Yr6 Trip to the Imperial War Museum

Yr6 went on a trip to the Imperial War Museum to learn more about World War II.
On Wednesday, Yr6 travelled to Elephant and Castle to visit the Imperial War Museum. They have been learning about World War II and enjoyed the opportunity to see the WWII exhibits in the museum. They took part in a session called 'We Were There'. This involved a unique opportunity for the children to meet with a person who has experience of war and conflict. They heard about their experiences first-hand and were able to ask questions about the impact of war and conflict. The workshop they participated in contained the themes of warfare, rationing, fear, shelter and coming under fire. It was a powerful and moving experience for our children and helped them to better understand the gravity and the impact of World War II.
