Welcome from the Head Teacher

At St William of York Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that we provide a safe, nurturing, positive and inclusive experience for our children, parents and staff.

We aim for excellence in all that we do and encourage our pupils to achieve their full potential. We work in partnership with parents to celebrate the uniqueness of every child and embrace the individual gifts and talents of all of those in our school community. We are an inclusive school and we welcome families of all faiths, or no faith at all.

What a spectacular World Book Day we had! The school was buzzing with a fantastic energy from start to finish, and seeing the children arrive with such big smiles made the day truly special. A huge well done to all our parents for the incredible effort put into those costumesthe creativity was off the charts! It was a joy to see books being read and shared throughout the day, and our teachers joined in the fun with some great costumes of their own. A special thank you goes to Ms. Webster, our English Lead, for her assembly and for all the hard work she put into today. #SWOY #Stwilliamofyork #Catholicprimaryschool #SE23 #SELondon #Lewisham #Foresthill #worldbookday

Today, our Year 5 and 6 students participated in vital workshops led by Talk Consent, focusing on the core principles of personal boundaries and the power of being an active bystander. These sessions are a crucial part of our commitment to fostering a culture of respect and safety; by equipping our students with the language to express consent and the courage to support their peers, we are helping them build healthy relationships and a stronger, more empathetic community. Well done to Year 5 and 6 for listening so intently and for their insightful contributiobs. #SWOY #Stwilliamofyork #Catholicprimaryschool #SELondon #Lewisham #SE23 #boundries #boundriesarehealthy #consent

If your're walking past the Headteacher's office and smell delicious hot chocolate or hear a lot of laughter, don't worry - it's not just Mrs. Mayers on her break! It's almost certainly Friday Club in full swing. A huge well done to all the children chosen for this week's club. We hope you had a fantastic time playing games and enjoying a treat with Mrs. Mayers. You earned it! #SWOY #Stwilliamofyork #Catholicprimaryschool #Lewisham #SELondon #SE23 #hotchocolate #fridayclub

Our Year 5 artists have been busy exploring the diverse North American biomes through a stunning fusion of paint and stitchery. They layered bold acrylics with intricate hand-sewing, capturing everything from the essence of the icy Tundra to the lush Temperate Rainforests. While some took a realistic approach, others went abstract, using texture and thread to represent the "feeling" of the wild. #SWOY #Stwilliamofyork #catholicprimaryschool #SELondon #SE23 #lewisham #northamerica #biomes #stitching #artwork #accessart

"There are wonderful benefits of a small school. Everything is more personal. Parents and children are greeted daily and everyone knows everyone’s name. The school is a friendly and caring environment for the children to learn in. Parents feel confident that their children are happy and we feel that we can take concerns to the teacher directly."
