Year 4's Trip to Deptford Creek

Today, Year 4 went on an exciting trip to Deptford Creek as part of their exploration into the water cycle and system. They had a great time in the water (wearing waders, of course!) and were able to see lots of different wildlife, such as leeches and even a crab.

After lunch, the children went back to the creek to make observations about the river - how wide it was, what temperature the water was and how much the water level had risen. "It was taller than my head!" said one pupil. They also got the chance to examine different artefacts and animal bones that had been found in the river over the years, some from as long ago as 1850.

It was a fantastic day for all of our children. We're so grateful they were able to have this experience. "It was the best day of my life," said another child.
