Yr6 Trip to Beckenham Place Park
Yr6 had a great time orienteering at Beckenham Place Park this week.
On Thursday, Yr6 hopped on the train to Beckenham and visited the education building above the Homestead Cafe in Beckenham Place Park. They worked with the Field Studies Council (FSC) and participated in a workshop titled 'Investigating a Local Place'.
During the session, Yr6 developed their fieldwork skills by exploring the park using maps and compasses. They had great fun orienteering and were able to use compass skills to answer questions. This allowed them to successfully complete their nature trail. They also learnt how to use coordinates and navigate grid references.
The children reported that they had a fantastic time and particularly enjoyed running and jumping through lots of crunchy autumnal leaves!
